In the past we have booked VIP tours direct by calling Signature Services. Because they are slower to pay and we do not get credit for the sales towards earmarked status, we’ve been advised to book all VIP Tours through the WDTC which is the normal 800 number you call to make phone bookings. The tour will then become an add-on to the guests package. FYI, some cast members do not know how to do these bookings. If you end up with one and they say they can’t do it, please hang up and call back to get another cast member that does, or ask to speak to someone else.
Here’s a little clarification about cancellation policy direct from Disney:
If the tour is added as an Add-On to a Walt Disney Travel Company (WDTC) package it would follow the same rules as the package cancellation policy. Canceling 30 days or more in advance is a full refund of the package. Cancelling between 2-29 days is a $200 deposit forfeiture. Cancelling at 1 day to same day will be 100% forfeiture. If the tour is booked separately, such as through Signature Services, it has a 2 day advance cancellation policy. If canceled within 2 days of tour, full payment is charged.
